How to Use Test Strips
- Prepare the Sample: Collect a urine specimen in a clean container.
- Dip the Strip: Remove the test strip from its pouch, hold it vertically, and dip it in the sample for 10–15 seconds. Ensure the strip is not submerged past the maximum line (MAX).
- Wait and Read: Place the strip on a flat, non-absorbent surface and wait for 5 minutes. Avoid interpreting results after 10 minutes.
How to Read the Results
- Positive: One colored line in the control region (C) and no line in the test region (T).
- Negative: Two colored lines—one in the control region (C) and one in the test region (T).
- Invalid: If no line appears in the control region (C), the test is invalid and should be repeated with a new strip.
